Healthy living recipes are exactly what you want in life!
Healthy living recipes are essential for keeping your body functioning like a well-oiled machine! Please note, that perfect is NOT part of healthy living! Although most women feel way too busy for healthy living, I am living proof you can create simple recipes that pack a nutrition punch.
This post is all about 3 No Nonsense Healthy Living Recipes.
Let’s just get something out on the table immediately! I am not a “food blogger!” However, I am a runner and a busy mother of four active humans. My stomach loves food and my lifestyle craves simplicity. Therefore, when you scroll through to find a few of my no-nonsense healthy recipes, my glam shots are straight from the plate or bowl I consumed them from! My goal is to always just be “me” and my pictures demonstrate that!
What’s Healthy Living?
Whenever “healthy living” pops up in a conversation, the primary focus becomes food. Although food is a major piece of the healthy living pie, please remember that movement, meditation, sleep practices, journaling, and so much more create the whole scrumptious thing. My kitchen is stocked with fruits, vegetables, beans, whole grains, and some junk food!

Because I have a clear vision of who my healthiest self is and choose to step into her daily, most of the time junk food is consumed out of habit. I bet you can relate to grabbing the chocolate during a massive afternoon energy dip! Healthy living to me is living life! Enjoy the brownie, eat the brightly colored vegetables, slurp up the watermelon, and munch on salmon, chicken breast, and pork chops.
Plus, wake up when the house is still, make a cup of coffee, and soak in the serenity. While most prefer sleeping in, waking up before the world dictates your day is the perfect time to set your intentions for a “healthy living” kind of day.

Clean Out Creations
Let’s be honest, some women are creative in the kitchen and some avoid the kitchen at all costs. I have developed a love/hate relationship with the kitchen. Cooking and eating are a way to bring my family together, yet who wants to be hanging around the counter all day when the world is crying for explorers?
So, here is where my focus becomes simple. Sure some days I prep and spend more time on elaborate meals, but the majority of my meals follow this mantra – “the simpler, the better!” Consequently, my recipes are notoriously known as the “clean out creations!” Open the fridge, peek in the freezer, and pull out the pantry goodies for mouth-watering, super simple recipes.
As you read my no-nonsense healthy living recipes, embrace the idea of getting to know your tastebuds! Obviously, I share measurements. But, please understand that “measurements” is a loose term. My measuring consists of a teaspoon of this, a sprinkle of that, and a couple of shakes! Take my ideas and use what you love and leave the rest behind!
Recipes
Chicken Veggie Quinoa
As long as my weekly shopping trip has been filled with fresh produce, I know when the refrigerator door is pulled open it will be ready for grabbing and washing. What’s in your refrigerator today? For Chicken Veggie Quinoa use any combination of vegetables available at the moment. Here’s an extensive list of ideas: kale, spinach, broccoli, sweet peppers, carrots, beet greens, red onions, sugar or snap peas, green beans, and/or sliced brussel sprouts. Dice, slice, shred or use handfuls to add to the warm oil, fresh garlic, fresh ginger, and any other spices.
Here’s a time-saving tip: pull out your chicken breasts the night before. In the morning or during lunch, cube the chicken and place it in a container with olive oil, salt, pepper, or any dry rub seasoning you love. Warm the olive oil and dump it into the pan. I prefer to saute vegetables in one pan and chicken in another.
Rotisserie chicken from the grocery store is always an easy option. Simply add pieces of chicken to the stir-fried vegetables and warm.
Chaffle Bacon, Spinach, Avocado
Have you tried a chaffle? My chaffle iron investment was as definitely worth it! First, grab your egg, almond flour, and cheese! Whisk it!
Second, warm your chaffle iron, dump in your batter, and wait patiently for the green light!
Last, assemble bacon, spinach, and avocado on the sandwiches. These mini chaffle sandwiches are great for bacon, lettuce, and tomato too! And, I frequently use sliced turkey, sweet peppers, and my favorite aioli sauce.
Strawberry Pineapple Chicken Delight
Where are my tortilla chip lovers? Me! Making a simple recipe, in a bowl, and being able to eat it with tortilla chips is exactly how I could eat every day. My children might starve though!
Although this recipe says Strawberry Pineapple, it could just as easily be called Strawberry Peach or Strawberry Mango. Similarly, I often add red or orange peppers for added flavor and crunch. Cut your goodies, rinse your beans, and shred your chicken. Squeeze lime and sprinkle some salt and pepper, if you want. Mix and gobble up! And if you are feeling adventurous, add avocado for the healthy fat bonus!

Other Simple Routines for Healthy Living
Remember healthy living is more than food. Here are a few routines I have found helpful throughout my health journey:
- Establish a morning routine – include gratitude, silence, prayer/meditation, journaling, and reading. The Miracle Morning is a great resource to help get started.
- Create a consistent movement schedule – running, walking, yoga, biking, pilates, cross-fit, and group aerobic classes. Movement not only strengthens your heart, muscles, and lung capacity, but it amplifies your energy and mood.
- Wake up and go to bed at the same time. Figure out a sleep schedule that allows you to feel and perform your best.
- Hydrate all day long.
- Spend time in nature every day. Observe the colors, sounds, smells, and textures. Practice gratitude for the abundance of living things, bright blue skies, and puddles to jump in. And bring nature indoors.
- Surround yourself with people who bring out the best in you. Family and friends that promote love, laughter, adventure, and support.
- Learn to feel all of your feelings. And if you don’t feel feelings, ask yourself why and begin the journey to discover your feelings. Your feelings help you identify what you want more of in life and also help you identify want you don’t want. And when you know what you want, you can chase that with wild abandon.
In conclusion, Chicken Veggie Quinoa, Chaffle Bacon Spinach Avocado, and Strawberry Pineapple Chicken Delight are a few simple recipes to help with healthy living. Yet, healthy living is more than food. Routines to promote overall wellness are important to your healthy living journey.
